Our Vision

Hatchlings Games are not about making profit. All money raised is filtered back into RPG project development and paying ourselves a minimum living wage.

Since working at a Deaf charity for a combined eighteen years, we want to honour the time spent there by making our games highly accessible and continuing the community and charity work we enjoy.

We've spent many years building a dedicated and supportive community, with nearly 10,000 subscribers and an active Discord server with over 700 members.

Our Team

Rich & Kathryn Oxenham run our small family business, with Rich designing the games, and Kathryn taking the lead as principal writer. To list the other hats they wear on a day-to-day basis would likely break the website!

They both love creating and publishing RPGs full time, attending conventions to meet up with friends, and supporting their peers in the industry.

Our Awards

Hatchlings Games have been nominated for two CRIT Awards and were finalists in the Ian Livingstone Award for Innovations in Games. In 2024, Inspirisles won the American Library Association's Games and Gaming Round Table Platinum Play award, alongside Kids on Bikes from Hunters Entertainment. Both RPGs were recognised by librarians across the US.

Inspirisles is also in the top 10 highest rated RPGs on itch.io with over 11,000 digital downloads to date.

Our Future

We have many projects planned, beginning with Inspirisles 2nd edition, which will be updated to reflect the past four years of game design since its publication.

Other projects include...

Underisles: the final RPG in our sign language trilogy.

Ripples: a Cryptid Creeks anthology with contributions from ten highly-talented writers.

And so much more, including another groundbreaking educational RPG!
